Hi, I’m Rutger — a graduate of the Photo Academy Amsterdam and a professional photographer for over 15 years. Through Fotoshoot-Gezin.online I dedicate myself wholeheartedly to family photography: from extended family sessions and maternity and newborn photography to playful children’s portraits and images of special moments such as baptisms or communions. My strength is a relaxed, natural approach. I enjoy working in your familiar surroundings or in my studio in Katwijk/Leiden — and I’m also happy to come to you in Wassenaar and anywhere in the Netherlands. During the shoot I look for genuine moments of connection and small interactions: authentic looks, playful laughter, and the gentle touches between parents and children. Many clients describe my working style as calm and unobtrusive, which results in spontaneous, characterful images. Style and editing matter to me. I create expressive images with careful attention to light and composition, and where appropriate I use black-and-white to heighten emotion. Whether you want a classic portrait for the wall or a series of documentary-style images, I make sure the photo series tells a cohesive story that suits your family. How do I work? We start with a short introductory conversation so I understand your wishes. On the day of the shoot I take my time, create a relaxed atmosphere (including good music in the studio) and guide you gently where needed. After the session I quickly send a curated selection of the best images; together you choose the photos you’d like to have edited or printed. I am a specialist in family and children’s photography and find my greatest satisfaction in creating memories you’ll want to revisit again and again.
