As a specialist in family photography, I, Roos Jooren, capture the heart of your family in a way that feels genuine and familiar. With a background from the Royal Academy, I bring a fashion- and portrait-oriented eye to small details and composition, but my true passion is creating honest, relaxed family photoshoots. I mainly work in and around The Hague and always look for locations where you feel at ease — at home, on the beach or in the woods. My style is calm, natural and atmospheric. I use natural daylight and pay attention to those small, recognizable moments: a laugh, a tender touch, a child’s mischievous glance. Those details make a family photograph personal and timeless. Rather than relying on forced poses, I create a setting where you can be yourselves; this is how images emerge that show the real connection within your family. How do I work? Before we shoot I like to take a little time to get to know you — briefly or in more depth, depending on your preference — so I understand what matters to you. During the session I create a relaxed atmosphere and offer subtle guidance when helpful; often my main role is simply to be present and wait for the right moment. A typical family photoshoot usually takes around an hour, but I always adapt the duration to your family’s rhythm and needs. In addition to family photography I also create newborn and child portraits with a lifestyle approach: intimate, soft images made at your home or another familiar location. My focus remains the same: natural light, attention to detail and honesty in expression.
