As a specialist family photographer in Katwijk aan Zee, I catch by Esther focuses on one thing: capturing your family story honestly and warmly. I’m Esther, mother of two daughters and a natural-light photographer. My training includes basic and advanced photography courses, the Natural Light Photography course with Willie Kers, and additional workshops in spontaneous family and child photography. That combination of formal education and hands-on parenting experience gives me the patience and sensitivity to create a relaxed atmosphere for both young children and quieter adults. What sets my work apart is my approach: calm, personal and always in search of authenticity. I work with natural light and encourage a playful, informal setting so children can be themselves and parents can relax. This leads to spontaneous glances, small touches and unexpected bursts of laughter that later become treasures. My style is warm, accessible and focused on capturing intimacy and movement within your family. How I work with you: before the session I help you think about locations and the mood that suit your family, and I give practical advice on clothing and timing. On the day I provide calm guidance — no long list of poses, just gentle direction and playful prompts to capture real contact and emotion. Whether you choose a short session or a longer shoot, my goal remains the same: to deliver photographs that make you look back and remember how it felt. In addition to family photography I regularly photograph newborns, babies and children’s parties. I approach these assignments with the same care and calm as my family sessions, though my primary focus and expertise remain on documenting families and their everyday moments.
