Memories by Soof stands for family photography that feels like a memory: soft, sincere and crafted with attention to every detail. Based in Benthuizen, I’m Sophia (you can call me Soof). I combine a love of natural light with years of experience with families to create images you’ll want to revisit again and again. Why choose a family shoot with me? I work from a place of calm and trust. As a mother and visual thinker I intuitively sense how to put both children and parents at ease. There are no forced poses — only gentle invitations to connect: cuddling, walking, playing or simply being still together. Those small, true moments — a hand on a belly, a mischievous glance from your little one, a warm embrace — become the photographs that say the most later on. My style is natural and light: soft tones, warm lighting and thoughtful styling. In my daylight studio in Rijswijk (or at Atelier Oost Amsterdam when preferred) we create a peaceful setting where everyone feels comfortable. Prefer an outdoor shoot? I’m happy to find a nearby atmospheric location: dunes, forest paths or a quiet city street during golden hour provide the intimate mood my work is known for. How does a session with me work? We begin with a short introduction so I can learn your story and wishes. On the day I take my time: a brief explanation, space to settle in, and relaxed guidance throughout. I offer small posing cues and styling advice — you’ll also have access to my client closet with carefully selected pieces. During the session I stay gently present: observing, guiding and clicking at the moments when connection becomes visible. After the shoot I carefully select and edit the images so each frame is right in color, composition and feeling. You’ll receive an online gallery to choose your favorite photos, and extra images or prints can always be ordered. Give your family the gift of memories that truly reflect who you are.
