I’m Laura Grotentraast and family photography is my passion. In Deventer and the surrounding area I photograph families as they truly are: playful, messy, tender and full of life. My aim is not forced posing but images that reflect who you are — with warmth, humour and honest emotion. For that reason I work with the so‑called moment-design method: I give small, fun prompts so spontaneous interactions arise and your natural connection takes centre stage in front of the lens. What sets me apart? My enthusiasm, creativity and an eye for light and composition. I love shooting outdoors, chasing that soft golden hour and picking natural locations that give your photo series a timeless atmosphere. At the same time I value personal contact: we discuss your wishes, colours and styling in advance, and I support you with a digital style guide and styling advice so everything comes together. Don’t worry about outfits — my client wardrobe includes beautiful dresses and children’s clothing so you don’t have to spend hours choosing looks. During the shoot I create a relaxed, playful atmosphere. No awkward poses or forced laughter, but short, clear directions and plenty of room for genuine togetherness. I work quickly and intuitively so children don’t get tired and parents can stay relaxed. After the session I carefully select and edit every photo — no generic filters, no AI, just handcrafted post‑processing so each image feels right and conveys emotion.
