Hi, I’m Lara Groenhof — a mother and family photographer based in Zaanstad (Zaandam). My work is all about family stories: the small everyday moments, mischievous looks from children, and the gentle connections between parents and kids. Becoming a mother myself made me realize how quickly children grow, and that shared recognition is at the heart of my style: warm, honest and timeless. My daylight studio in Zaandam has a homely, living-room atmosphere with full-width windows. That lets me photograph you in a relaxed way, regardless of the weather and without the hassle of tidying the whole house. In the studio I create a safe environment where children settle in quickly — and that’s exactly what leads to the spontaneous, natural family photography you’ll treasure for years. My approach is lifestyle-inspired: I work with gentle guidance and plenty of patience so real interactions can emerge. Alongside candid family photos, I also create statement portraits — portraits you’ll proudly hang on the wall. I believe in a calm shoot experience; laughing and playing are welcome, but the focus remains on you as a family and the authentic moments between you. Before the session we align expectations and styling. I send a style guide with clothing tips and you can use my client closet, so you don’t have to spend hours searching. During the shoot I always pay attention to detail and emotion; afterwards I carefully edit the images to preserve the mood and warmth of the moment. You’ll receive the finished photos via an easy-to-use online gallery, convenient for sharing or ordering prints. Although my main focus is family photography, I also love creating related shoots such as newborn and children’s portraits within the family context.
