As a specialist in family and maternity photography I combine technical skill with a warm, homely approach. I am Roos Koman — a graduate of the Fotovakschool, with over 15 years of experience and a mother of two — and my mission is to give families in and around Velsen-Zuid memories that feel as real years from now as they do in the moment. My photo studio in the IJmuiden harbor area is intentionally cozy and inviting. With more than thirty different backdrops and a calm atmosphere, I create a space where children quickly feel at ease and parents can relax. That familiar setting is ideal for intimate maternity sessions and gentle newborn shoots, as well as cheerful family photos and children’s portraits. Why do families choose me? Because I work from patience, attention and authenticity. During a family shoot I leave room for spontaneous interaction: hugs, laughter and small gestures often make the most beautiful images. At the same time I ensure calm, loving compositions that put the connection between you at the center. My style is personal and natural — no forced poses, just images that feel true. How I work: we start with a short introductory conversation so I can learn your wishes. In the studio I offer guidance on clothing choices and styling, and during the shoot I guide children in a playful, relaxed way. For maternity and newborn photography I take the time that’s needed; safety and comfort are always paramount. Outdoor sessions are possible if you prefer a more natural, outdoor location. I don’t just capture moments — I tell your story with attention to detail and emotion. Whether it’s the anticipation of a growing family, the first quiet moments with a newborn, or a playful family session: my approach is warm, professional and personal.
