Davien Photography based in Hilversum specializes in family photography and captures the small, lazy and loving moments that will mean everything to you later. I believe the most beautiful images appear when you allow yourself to be: imperfect, relaxed and full of love. That’s why I work with a documentary approach — my style is often described as “documentary through rose-colored glasses”: I stay in the background while making sure I catch every sweet, funny or moving moment. Whether it’s a pregnancy shoot, a baby lifestyle or newborn session, a family shoot on the heath or a playful children’s series, I create a safe, relaxed atmosphere where everyone can be themselves. My visual language uses clear colors and warmth; photos that still bring back the same feeling years from now. Perfectly imperfect, as I like to call it. How I work: we start with a short chat where you tell me what matters to you — location wishes (from the Hilversum Heath to a cozy at-home session), clothing and the mood you want. During the shoot I keep things fun and easygoing; for children I turn it into a little adventure, and for newborns I take all the time needed. For families who want to preserve everyday life, I also offer "day in the life" shoots: I spend a morning or afternoon with you and photograph your life in natural moments. After the session you choose your favorite images via an online gallery. I carefully edit each photo so color and emotion come through at their best. Would you like physical keepsakes?
