I am Bastiaan from Duinportret — photographed in and by the dunes of Bergen. My specialty is family photography: relaxed, nature-focused photoshoots in which I aim to capture what a family truly is. No stiff poses, but movement, play and the small spontaneous moments that later become the most treasured memories. My approach is simple and personal. We head out together into nature — the dunes, the beach or the nearby woods — and I guide you with friendly directions and short conversations so everyone feels at ease. Children get space to be themselves; parents can join in and relax. That mix produces calm, authentic images that reveal both family dynamics and individual character. What drives me is the blend of portrait photography and a love of the outdoors. As a nature lover with roots in the dunes, I look for light, lines and landscape elements that make a photo more than just a portrait. I use the surroundings creatively: a dune ridge, the golden light at sunset or a natural frame of marram grass can all strengthen the story of your family. During the photoshoot I keep the atmosphere playful and relaxed. Often the best images appear when people forget about the camera for a moment. After the session I carefully select and edit the photos so colours and mood come through naturally, paying attention to detail and subtle, tasteful retouching.
