I am Fardo Dopstra, specializing in documentary family photography based in Korrewegwijk (Groningen). My work is all about capturing real life — not styled sets or forced poses, but the small rituals, messy craft sessions, and the everyday love that lives in your routines. I believe these authentic images will carry far more meaning in thirty years than a polished Instagram shot. My approach is relaxed and respectful: I come to your home or to a place where you feel at ease and let the day unfold. Day-In-The-Life and Slice-of-Life reportages add context to your family story — from breakfast and storytime to the bedtime ritual or an afternoon of outdoor play. Children, babies and newborns are more comfortable in their own environment; that comfort translates into honest, warm portraits and moments that truly reflect who you are. Style and craft: my visual style is narrative, subtle and artful without gimmicks. After a mentorship with Made for Documentary I refined my visual voice: I look for layers, emotion and the details that later prove invaluable. Technically I work with high-sensitivity equipment and careful, thoughtful editing so each image is both technically strong and personally resonant. Working with me is straightforward: we have a short pre-shoot conversation about what matters most, I stay in the background on the day itself, and at the start or end I’m happy to make a relaxed group portrait if you want one.
