I am Inge Marije — born and raised in Friesland and working from Harlingen. My heart belongs to family photography: capturing how life really is, so you can look back later and instantly feel that small, familiar moment. My approach is honest and calm. I work in a documentary style: I record real moments and intervene as little as possible. This creates images that reveal the family dynamics and those effortless little details. Between spontaneous scenes I always take a moment for a few intentional, beautiful portraits — so you receive both reportage images and personal portrait photos. For a family photoshoot we agree on the location together in advance: at your home for intimate, everyday rituals or outdoors for wider, natural images in the Frisian landscape. I photograph using natural light and aim to be present yet unobtrusive, so children can play and parents can be themselves. That relaxed atmosphere produces the photos that later prove truly priceless. I value contact and trust highly. A short introduction beforehand and clear expectations make sure you enter the session feeling relaxed. After the shoot I carefully select and edit the best images — with attention to color, mood and timelessness — so you receive a cohesive series that does justice to your family. Although family photography is my specialization, I also create portraits and occasionally work on maternity and newborn sessions.
