Family photography is my passion — and you’ll notice it from the very first contact. At Het Fotohuisje in Lelystad I focus entirely on families: from playful children’s portraits to warm family photos where connection and spontaneity are central. My approach is a little cheeky, open and always full of fun; I believe the most beautiful images appear when everyone dares to be themselves. Why choose Het Fotohuisje? Because I don’t aim for stiff, posed pictures but for real moments. I create a relaxed, safe atmosphere where children are free to play, be mischievous or just act silly for a while. Parents relax more easily in that setting, which results in natural, authentic family photographs you’ll truly value — for hanging on the wall, filling an album or gifting to loved ones. How I work: we start with a personal conversation, often over a cup of coffee, to learn who you are and what you’d like to see reflected in your images. The photoshoot can take place in my cosy studio in Lelystad or at an outdoor location; for outdoor work I prefer early morning or the gentle evening hours to capture the best light. During the session I guide you in posture and interaction, but I always leave room for spontaneity and play. For families with newborns or small children I choose a pace that suits you. Kids are given the freedom to be themselves and I respond to their energy — that often produces the most genuine, pure expressions. Newborn and baby portraits can be integrated into a family session, always respecting the rest and comfort of the little ones. My style is timeless, honest and light-sensitive. I combine a documentary eye (those small unnoticed moments) with creative portraiture so you receive a varied series of images that work now and in years to come.
