As a specialist in family photography, at C’est la Vie Photographie I capture images that truly matter later on. My work focuses on calm, attention and catching the moments between the moments: that glance, the little hand you hold, the play of your children. I believe in photos that don’t shout, but bring you back to how it felt. I mainly work outdoors, at locations around Almere such as De Kemphaan or Almeerderstrand. Outside, light and space often give a family precisely what it needs to be itself: children can move, parents relax, and interaction emerges naturally. You don’t have to do anything spectacular — just be who you are. With subtle guidance and a gentle direction I help everyone feel at ease, even if being in front of the camera feels a bit daunting. My approach is personal and thoughtful. We start with a conversation to find out what’s important to you: location, style and practical matters like clothing or timing. Preparation isn’t a checklist but a way to make the session carefree for you. During the shoot I observe, move with you and photograph moments as they unfold. The result is a series of natural, timeless images in which you recognise yourselves. After the session you’ll receive a clear online gallery. From there you can choose favourites and easily order prints or files. I also value something tangible: almost always you’ll receive a compact accordion photo book — a small object to leave on the table and often the first thing grandparents want to see. What drives me is the appreciation of families who return, sometimes years later, to capture new chapters. I work carefully with backups and professional post‑processing so the photos remain warm and true to life. Occasionally Marieke joins as a second photographer to help with light, clothing or small details; together we ensure calm and attention.
