I’m Melissa Kroezen, based in Hoogeveen, and my heart is with family photography. As a specialist in this field I don’t chase perfectly posed images but seek the small moments between you: a spontaneous laugh, a cheeky look from your child, a tender touch between parents and baby. Those moments tell your story best, and that is what I aim to capture. My style is natural, warm and honest. I love working outdoors in nature because it brings calm and space for spontaneity, but I’m equally comfortable stepping into your home to capture your own bubble — from cozy sofa moments to feedings and playtime between siblings. My background in healthcare makes me patient and calm on location; that helps children and new parents feel at ease quickly. For every family shoot I take the time to get to know you. We discuss in advance what’s important to you, which location feels right and what mood you want reflected in the images. I’m happy to advise on clothing (earth tones often create a soothing look) and you’re welcome to browse my client closet for beautiful dresses and accessories that give the shoot that little extra. During the session I give simple prompts and playful tasks so there’s minimal posing and genuine interaction comes forward. After the shoot I make a careful selection and edit the images in my own style — I don’t rely on one fixed preset because every family is different. The goal is that when you look back at the photos you relive the moment: the scents, the little sounds and the warmth of that day.
