Hi, I’m Rob. Nostalgia is my middle name — I live for those photographs that will still reach you straight in the heart in ten, twenty or fifty years. As a documentary family photographer in Assen I don’t chase posed pictures; I look for the small everyday moments that truly make your story. Why choose me as your family photographer? Whether it’s a newborn session, a child portrait, a baptism or communion, or a birthday when everyone comes together, I search for honest looks, unexpected smiles and subtle touches that later become the most important memories. How do we work together? We start with contact: you tell me who you are and what matters to you. I then send a short questionnaire to find out what fits your family — favourite spots, weekend rituals or an activity that makes you happy. On the day itself I give few to no directions; I walk with you, join in and create space so you can just be. That approach produces the most relaxed and authentic images, even with small children. Location? We decide together. At home, in the woods, on Ameland’s beach or in your favourite park in Drenthe — the place should match your story. I love working in nature and often use it as a background, but intimate shoots at home that capture daily rituals are equally valuable: making pancakes, reading together or an evening bedtime routine. After the shoot I carefully select and edit the images so the atmosphere and emotion remain clear. You receive a user-friendly online gallery to choose favourites. I also offer beautiful tangible options such as albums and fine-art prints — physical keepsakes that can be passed down through generations.
